Freedom Desk is The Washington Post’s global press freedom initiative supporting the next generation of journalists through training, connection and empowerment — especially in places where truth-telling is most at risk.
As part of a team of two designers for this project, I was an integral part in ideating, presenting, and executing the entire branding visual identity for not only this initiative, but for the launching event that coupled as the 10 year celebration of Jason Rezaian freedom from Iranian captivity as an imprisoned journalist.
I was responsible for the following: logo suite, typography, photo treatment, merch, social, invitations, large installations, furniture selection, animated MPR screen and wing designs, print ads, digital animated ads, and buttons. I worked directly with many great people including but certainly not limited to the Brand Director, and Jason Rezaian himself!
The chosen identity by the client was one of my creation. I was inspired by punk graphic design.
